Learn how Paul Hamilton lost over 60 lbs. in only a year!

Brandon: You say you’ve lost over 60lbs over the past year. That’s an amazing accomplishment! What was your initial core motivation to start taking your health more serious?

Paul: I appreciate you! My motivation was me getting too fat lol. I am not getting any younger and I have kids to raise. I need to be healthy for them and also for myself. I was getting tired of being up and down with my weight. I vowed to never let that happen again and stay consistent.

Brandon: Staying consistent for that long isn’t easy - what helped you to stay on track?

Paul: I broke two bones in my right leg when I was about 12. It caused me to have an imbalance in my hips. That led to hip pain, which is very painful. I know the added weight was causing it. I was told years ago I needed to be lighter to lessen the pain. That was one of my motivations also with staying consistent and keeping it off.

Brandon: How has implementing fitness and proper nutrition impacted your life?

Paul: It has helped me feel and look better. I feel good internally and look better physically. It has helped me save more money as well, because I don't eat out as much. I cook my own food the majority of the time. I have more energy overall working out as well.

Brandon: Where were you mentally a year ago compared to now?

Paul: I was very depressed actually a year ago. Due to the overweight and I was not working at the time as well. That turned out for the good to where I am now and helped me push myself to achieve what I needed to get done. I am very competitive and would not allow myself to go like that. It is a fine line.

Brandon: How has your change of lifestyle influenced the people around you?

Paul: It has motivated many people to start working out. My oldest son lost almost 100 pounds as well and I have had friends hit me up to help them loose weight.

Brandon: Do you have any advice for individuals who may have considered but haven’t started their own weight loss journey or people who are currently on that journey?

Paul: My advice is to just start and get off your ass. I don't care if you start with walking 5 minutes a day and doing 2 push ups. That is better then doing nothing at all. For the people that are on the journey. Just stay consistent as possible and don't allow yourself to fall off the wagon. I don't allow myself no longer than 2 to 3 days of inconsistency to go by. Eating right or working out. If you get to week or more, I feel it is harder to get back in the groove. Take pictures of yourself, write down your goals and hold yourself accountable.
